Position Summary

This position is responsible for engineering related to the production of products compatible with K-TECH’s manufacturing capabilities. Develops and evaluates manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, conferring with equipment vendors. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished-product and process capabilities, establishing standards, confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Partners with engineering, production, and quality to optimize information and workflows, develop Operation and Inspection instructions, to ensure set-up of work cell and the effective use of proper manufacturing techniques.
  • Apply knowledge of materials and engineering theory and methods to set-up, integrate and improve manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules,
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Establish production process time standards, perform timely estimation of costs and make-buy evaluations in support of quoting activities, production performance monitoring and cost reduction efforts
  • Work across Production to implement LEAN/Agile practices including balance work cells, minimize inventory, and maximize throughput.
  • Provide training and guidance in Lean manufacturing methods for continuous improvement of production processes
  • Specify and purchase new equipment to improve manufacturing performance, plan equipment installation and assist in prove-out and production setup.
  • Lead Failure Modes and Effects Analysis efforts on new projects.
  • Experience using continuous improvement methods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ industry experience
  • Experience with electrical and electro-mechanical assemblies and products
  • Experience in manufacturing process development
  • Experience in development of testing procedures, PCB test fixturing, and ATP
  • Experience in PCBA pick and place programming, reflow profiling, AOI programming and paste stencil design.
  • High level of corporate professionalism, maturity, and technical savvy
  • Ability to build consensus and decision-making through influence
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Able to professionally execute projects with minimal supervision

Education

Required

  • BS in Mechanical or Industrial or Electrical Engineering

Preferred

  • BAS Electrical Engineering or Technology
