K-TECH’s New Product Introduction (NPI) process is designed to align with your new product development process. As products progress through design stages, or ‘Gates’ (ie. Preliminary Design Review (PDR): Critical Design Review (CDR) etc.), our front end performs the essential steps to ensure the build process is well-defined and reliability is built into the product. Product Readiness Review (PRR), Control Plans, Process Flow-sheets, Detailed Manufacturing Work Instructions, and Control Records for assembly and test are all part of our ‘Process Ready’ activities.
Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input and product cost estimates are provided early in the process to help your team understand the cost to manufacture the product. Quick turn prototypes are provided to prove out the design. Detailed manufacturing work instructions are prepared to capture all of the detailed specifications that are important to the design. Bill of material analysis is performed to identify: long lead components, component cost drivers, component availability and component life cycle status. Alternate components are often suggested to lower the product cost and/or reduce lead time.
